President's Message

February, 2010

As February looms, it brings to mind two things for me.  Valentine’s Day and bitter cold. So let’s heat things up a little and talk about PASSION and ENGAGEMENT.  No, don’t send the children from the room; it’s not that kind of article.  I’m talking about passion and engagement for our Chamber of Commerce, and as Chamber members.

On February 15th, a new director for the Bedford County Chamber of Commerce will be on the job.  Please help me welcome Kellie Goodman to the role, who will be bringing with her a tremendous passion for the Bedford County Chamber of Commerce and her desire to engage our Chamber members.  Kellie, a resident of Bedford County, has demonstrated successes in setting and exceeding goals, growing a membership organization, coordinating successful events, and listening to members’ needs.   I look forward to working with her, the Chamber board and committees, and all of you, to take our Chamber to new heights.

I’d also like to take this moment to thank our staff, Linda, Jami, Keisha and Jill; our hard-working committee volunteers; and the board and membership for keeping the Chamber going through our search for a new director.  Our Bedford County Chamber of Commerce is a vital organization within our community, fueled by the passion of our members, staff, volunteers, and by the community itself.  Thank you all for making it so.
